  Welcome to the asylum - er, I mean wonderful world of puppetry! 
Reminds me of the old joke: you don't have to be crazy to be here, but 
it sure helps.
   As a newbie to the field, check out the Puppeteers of America 
(www.puppeteers.org) with a festival coming up this summer in the 
Baltimore area. Check into a puppet guild in your area as well. There 
are several active ones in the greater NY/NJ/PA area. Depending on your 
location, one or more might be close. Also lots of puppeteers to see 
and learn from within a short distance in that area. Most are even 
willing to share what they know.
