Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Sweeney Todd

Hi Jon

It was certainly a long time ago. I have this evening remembered that
the company were the run by a husband and wife - The Bickerdikes.
They were very prominent members of the British Puppet and Model
Theatre Guild.
It must be nigh on 50 years since I saw this production. I recall the
tilting barbers chair which swung back into the wings tipping the
marionette out, presumably helped by the manipulator and the chair
then righted to its normal position. The change of scene had the
oven, which had the door into the wings. I seem to recall that there
was a grinder, but can't remember much about it or how the pies were
produced. I have no idea what the music was. The dialogue was all live.
If you want to see any of my biography along with many other
companies see
Sorry I can't help you more.
