I'm afraid that this post won't help Liz Evans in the short term, and hope it won't seem callous that I take advantage of the moment. But for those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of puppet mechanics, (moving eyes, lips, brows, etc., etc. and cable control) this is an opportunity you might want to investigate. It has just been announced that the O'Neill Puppetry Conference will again host an intensive workshop on puppet mechanics featuring the amazing Jim Kroupa. (Between the Lions, Sesame Street, Muppets, etc., etc.) Intensive Dates: June 3 - 6, 2008. Conference June 7 - 15, 2008. You may choose to attend either or both. Jim presents an incredible hands-on workshop that allows each participant to build a particular mechanic. Dozens of examples of Jim's solutions to many puppet mech problems are on hand for study. These intensives ARE intense, but there is always time for Jim to address particular problems with a project you may be working on. The 'behind-the-scenes' annecdotal accounts of Jim's professional and family experiences in puppetry are worth the trip. Most enlightening. This intensive fills up fast, and has an enrollment limit. DO let Bobbie Nidzgorski, the General Manager know of your interest asap. oneillpupconf-AT-aol.com Check out the Conference web site for particulars. oneillpuppetryconference.com This year's conference information is about to be posted, but general and contact info remains the same. Write me if you have any questions. Guest artists for the main conference will be Luman Coad and Paul Mesner. Best, Fred Thompson ************** Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape. http://body.aol.com/fitness/winter-exercise?NCID=aolcmp00300000002489 _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
