Thanks for that neat tidbit on Harold--I know the Hestwoods or at least one with Sarg worked in conjunction with Bil Baird on the Gawpy show which they left Sarg to do. Th Gawpy puppets at MacNider museum must be THE puppets used.

Hi Alan:

Not quite related to your essay on collectibles, but the name Harold Hestwood 
is one that Margo Rose mentioned when I interviewed her back in the 
mid-nineties. He was a puppeteer for Tony Sarg at the same time Margo was there. I have 
to check my notes, but I think he also was a musician. Margo tells of someone 
(perhaps Hestwood) who would play the piano while the others would be setting 
up the show. Margo allowed as how that made the work go quickly. She 
mentioned that he was a tall, lanky guy.
