I have not confirmed the accuracy of this claim. But it seems to me that puppetry is capable of other new terms in the same vein. ALLREGRETTO- when you're 16 measures into a piece and realize you took too fast a tempo. APPOLOGGIATURA- a composition you regret playing APPROXIMATURA- a series of notes not given by the composer, played with an "I meant to do that" attitude and the related term APPROXIMENTO- somewhere in the vicinity of the correct pitch CACOPHANY- a composition incorporating many people with chest colds GREGORIAN CHAMP- title held by the monk able to sustain the longest note VESUVIOSO- and indication to build to a fiery conclusion DILL PICCOLINI- a tiny wind instrument capable of playing only sour notes FIDDLER CRABS- grumpy string players PLACEBO DOMINGO- faux tenor VIBRATTO- an annoying boy soprano Phrases, titles, and descriptions for new puppet-related terms may be lurking out there too, awaiting wider use. Your submissions are welcome (maybe).
