How many puppeteers end up working on one detail to the exclusion of everything else? Only to find out, as Christopher Hudert said, the audience doesn't even notice? Never discount the information gathered from actual rehearsal -- where you can tell what details need to be worked on and which ones can wait. Let certain things wait -- even if they drive you crazy. They can be worked on later. Get the big stuff done first. Story. character. Style of presentation. Set pieces can be replaced, backdrops can be repainted. What is difficult and time consuming is to rebuild a puppet -- so make sure the puppet is what you want, and is built solidly enough to last, and can move really well. Rehearse with it so you know it very well. Rolande On Feb 13, 2008, at 10:57 AM, Lady Raven wrote: > A question from a new puppeteer: > > How do you get a production ready for "the road?"
