I say, it depends by how *much* fire there is and how *prepared* you are to put it out. For a single candle shadow piece on stage the fire marshal will tell you that you need at least one manned fire extinguisher. Unless your set is made out of flash paper. Then you will need more. This fire-on-stage-is-bad myth comes from "Ye Olde Days" when theaters were designed to go up like a stack of dry wood and has been passed down for from that time. Just like whistling (the theater used to employ sailors. they communicated by whistles.) or the Scottish Play (you know, Macbeth. because it's haunted) or the Ghost Light (I've fallen off the edge of a stage before, so *really*, it's a good idea and big empty theaters are really creepy). So, go. Go and use the forbidden candle on stage; bring fear to the theater populous and have *safe* fun. _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
