I previously mentioned estimating what an hour's worth of work was. 
That's Estimate with a capital E.  And it doesn't matter whether a person
works as a factory manufacturer or a studio artist.  We all have financial
goals, and if we are freelancers or independent small business owners -
rather than employees - we should be able to decide what we deserve to
earn.

But then again, as I am a performer, sometimes my time calculates to being
worth more (or less) than other times.  Why?  Because, for example, I
charge more when I appear in a theater than when I appear in a school.

How's this for a complication...my Uncle Moe used to own a wholesale
sporting goods company.  He hated the practice of giving discounts for
bulk orders.  He would always say, "A fishing rod costs just as much to
make, whether it's part of an order of ten or a hundred.  So, why should I
be expected to sell it for less?"
