Michael,

That is very kind of you to say.  I don't usually have time
to participate much on Pupcrit, but my company is on a short
break.  Your project sound really interesting.  I worked with
a 4th grade class introducing both a Malaysian Myth poem,
"the Shell", and the feel of Wayang shadow puppetry.  I am by
no means on your level, but I think it is very important for our 
American youth to experience foreign cultures.

I got most of my information from speaking to shadow puppeteers
and reading.  It was an interesting project. Some students played 
percussion and reed instruments and all created their puppets using 
traditional forms copied onto Acetate and performed the myth.  It was
exciting to see them experience this amazing story telling art form.

I would love to hear more about the project you are working on.  You're
right it sounds a bit risky on the content side and very interesting.
