There was a young man named Valentine who had two marionettes which were  
much weathered and worn. He told me he was from Rumania or Romania, can't  
remember which. He used a spot between two shopping strips in New Orleans along  
Decatur. He would play a tape, and the marionette, whichever he was using at the  
moment, would appear in one case to be singing, the other to be playing the  
saxophone. Since he was there often, I guess he made a living of sorts from 
it.  The puppets were covered with a stretchy, fuzzy material. One was green. 
The  other I can't quite remember.
