Liz,

We charge a travel fee based on the mileage from our home base,  
starting outside a 30 mile radius.  I was curious to know about those  
farther-ranging gigs - the ones that take a day or more to drive to -  
and whether or not people added the cost of a potentially lost  
booking to their fee.  Similar issues arise when sponsors request  
rain dates.  How do you manage those?

We charge 0.30 per mile, roundtrip, which just about covers the cost  
of gas.
