on a  piece of sculpture that had been cast out in clear resin, so I
"painted"  that with superglue. That did the job and was quicker than
polishing.
I  guess you just have to make sure that your surface is very clean and  dry
before applying, and don't use too much glue?

They might be using a cheap version of crazy glue(super), the gel  version is 
best as it will not run, but a spot of gel will stay put
