Well, it's bound to be difficult, as humour is part of human life. It's 
universal!
It might even be a necessary defesne mechanism against insanity.

"Valentine Micheal Smith", a very wise albeit fictional character,  said 
something real deep about finally understanding human laughter, when viewing 
the miserable existence of monkeys in a cage.
Sorry I can't remember the details, but it was in the book "Stranger in a 
Strange Land", by Robert Heinlein.
Amazing story, makes you think, and re-think.
If someone has the book at home, could you quote us that part?
