  Despite the fact that everyone has a general opinion about how terrible communism was, only those who lived it could have felt the pain, humiliation, material and spiritual loss and frustration brought upon us by that regime, that psychological and physical prison... So the chance of learning puppetry got to be a deeply valuable thing for me. It was a real revival and hope for a better life, it was the end of censorship therefore, the awakening of freedom of expression. Those two puppetry masters who perhaps, did not have so good teaching skills (they were not teachers after all, but puppeteers) were god sent for me.
