Eastern Standard Time, john.bell-AT-uconn.edu writes: Dear Friends and Colleagues, Ms. Christine Klepper, an intern at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History asks the following: "The Smithsonian is interested in additional career information on puppeteer Cosmo 'Gus' Allegretti, a famed cast member of the groundbreaking children's show 'Captain Kangaroo.' "From our research, we are aware that Mr. Allegretti played a vital role in the art of puppetry's transition to television. However, we are uncertain about his career/whereabouts since his last film 'Author! Author!' in 1982. I did some intensive searching and it appears after the above 1982 appearance he vanished off the face of the Earth, Not a single record, can not even find an obituary if he passed on, and that most likely could be the fact since all actively of his ended in 1982 - He was very close to Debbie Weems who in 1978 decided to take a swan dive off a 16th story window of the building she lived in. I would suggest one to inquire from studios and public records to see if he still exists and if not, why, and trace back to Author author in 1982 Regards Mark THE CENTER FOR PROFESSIONAL PUPPETRY _http://members.aol.com/cahebay/puppets.html_ (http://members.aol.com/cahebay/puppets.html) **************It's Tax Time!
