Lothar Schreyer invented such a system for his puppet performances at
the Bauhaus in the 1920s; images of this can be seen in many books on
Bauhaus theater and avant-garde performance.

I have one that I created EONS ago for a prompt book I did when I was  
stage managing but it was my shorthand. If you want I can see if I  
can dig it up.
