I've heard a few people say that, and it's true. Last year, I wrote to him via his agent, with a very specific technical question. The message was forwarded, and Mr. Burkett took the time to write me a very complete answer, the likes of which I extremelely rarely see. He had just gotten back from a tour abroad, he had one day off before going back on tour, and he took the time! That to me is gift I will cherish always, and my admiration and respect for the man is already solid. I was a fan of his from the first time I saw photos of his puppets. They were also the first Full Resolution pictures I had seen from a puppeteer. His work deserves it. I can't find any of his at the moment, but they used to be in the media/image gallery section of Canstage's website, which still features full resolution pics of current productions (right no, they have Little Shop of Horror): www.canstage.com I've only seen a very short excerpt of his performing, years ago, and despite the small tv screen and crappy video quality, I was fascinated. And heartbroken when it was over. Until I played it back again, and again. _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
