Subject: [Puptcrit] two overheads projectors ganged together

Folks, I'm not much for electrical wiring, but this is what I want to do:
set two overhead projectors side by side projecting against a single screen.
I will do some shadow work on one OP then flip a single switch that turns
off one projector and turns the other projector on, where a different scene
has been preset. This would allow me to "cut" back and forth cleanly.
I might also want the option of fading from one projector to the other, but
that would be a luxury.
I could either get this effect with an electrical switch - though I suspect
I would go through a lot of bulbs, and there would be the problem that these
projectors take a moment to warm up.
Or I could figure out a way to keep both op's running but block the
projecting light, so only one is projecting at a time.
Suggestions?
Thanks
