Sean, I have seen this problem several times. The ultimate answer is of course not to make your puppets with human wig for hair unless you want them to turn messy. We tried all kinds of things with some of the puppets we had before we switched the hair. One sort-of successful thing was to buy a hair net and sew in onto the wig.
