Randy, you convinced me to try egg cartons for an experiment. Luman Coad's work is outstanding! Never thought that he uses egg cartons.
I know what you mean, sometimes I do papier mache over the plasticine model, too. Most of the times though, I make plaster molds and papier mache in layers inside the plaster negatives.
