Back in the early 60s when I did a daily TV show that included the reruns of
the Mickey Mouse Club Jimmy Dowd and Clarence Nash were guests on the show
and Clarence had the Donald Duck. It was a beautiful thing in person. I was
not allowed to try it on my hand and it had a special padded case. Mr. Nash
was a terrifically nice person. He said that the puppet was built by the
Disney Studio with the innerworkings built especially for his hands from a
cast made from his hand. I'm not sure what other sources will say, but this
came straight from a very reliable source. I'll have to try and find the
picture the station took of Donald Duck with one of my puppets, but I won't
be able to put it on pupcrit. Wish something could be set up so we could
share pictures.
