Yesterday when I was cleaning up a bit, I found a small box that came with a hallogen lightbulb. I was debating wether or not to recycle it or use it, and then I thought I might fit a puppet in it, perhaps for packaging and shipping. My first "advanced sock puppet" (the one-eyed Purple Zlorg) fits perfectly in this small cube. This suggested a topic to discuss: Compact puppets! I'm curious to know what has been done in this category. Many of us have the dream of having a complete show fit in a single suitcase. So, we have sock puppets, which can be folded or squished in a smaller bunch, especially if made mostly from soft materials. One obvious winner is Hobey Ford's "Peepers", so small that one could fit hundreds in a suitcase. Smaller Glove Puppets can be easy to carry around. Finger puppets are among the smallest pu ppets I've seen, but I wonder what kind of actual show one could make with this scale and limited movement range. As always, curious for your thoughts... _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
