Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Getting hired

Thanks Robert, Michelle and Michael for your good advice.

Exactly the kind I was and still am looking for.

Here are a few replies to some of your questions.

-I am indeed at a crossroad (yikes, you read people good through emails!),
but not an artistic one. I know what I want to do, and where I want to go
with it. It remains incredibly flexible, but the direction is clear.
It is a financial crossroad. I realise I need a lot more stability, and the
artistic contracts, although more and more interesting and better paid, are
not coming fast enough.
I hate the idea of the full-time job in something that is not my calling. I
did that years ago, and it nearly drove me mad, even though back then I had
not yet truly found my calling. Now that I have, I don't know how I could
manage to leave it all behind, even temporarily. Still, survival calls for
sacrifices sometimes. When someone hires me as a puppetmaker and puppeteer,
they'll get the most dedicated and grateful collaborator.

-I am slowly going back to having personal activities outside of the
puppetry world. The thing is, I love it so much, I really don't feel like
something is missing when all I do is puppet-related. Still, the world is
vast, and outside influences bring richness to the work. See? I'm obsessed.
Even outside of the puppet world, I still stay within the artistic realm. My
other joys include Music (singing and listening), Sculpture, Drawing. I
love nature, so I enjoy staybing in the country, or going in the woods
whenever I can (not so frequent, living in Montreal).

-As for my question about finding love in the puppet world, it's just part
of a utopia. Emotionnally, it would be awesome if a bit challenging.
Professionnally, it would be ideal, as a two-person show is something I've
been dreaming about. Still, I can always do a duo with a collegue.

If it happens, great!
If I find my soulmate outside of the puppet world, she'll probably be a very
creative person, because that's the kind of people I connect with the most.
