I actually have two of those adjustable drafting knibs, and I love them.
I can't believe that years ago, before I turned technical, I actually got 
rid of a geometry kit that had a few of them and many compases!

The drafting pens work similarly in some ways to the folded Pen, but the 
results are not as versatile width-wise, nor of the same sensibility or 
personality..

A folded pen can start with a hairline and finish in a two inch mark, in a 
single gesture.
The reservoir is vast and you need not dip as often.
