Subject: [Puptcrit] On a "Traversa" String Budget

    Ciao, bella!

Hello, all! As both Italian crossbars and PoA resources have come up in
unconnected PuptCrit letters recently, this?

seems an?opportune time?to mention that I have been asked to be Executive
Director of a wonderful little gem of a not-for-profit?

marionette theater in Florida... with an Italian name. Coincidence?

Unfortunately, the space has been shuttered since January due to a health
scare for the founder and some resulting?

financial woes.

It's not my intention to rob Peter to pay Paul, as I know many of us seek
donations and grants as well as gigs, and it?

does seem that things are even a little tighter this year. But, as there are
not all that many purpose-built, year round puppet

theaters operating in the country, it's my hope to revive this one and make it
part of the overall puppeteering community.

Should any PuptCritters have an inclination to offer moral support, advice,
or thoughts (or more!) on donations,?

potential grants, board members, etc., it would be very welcome. I would rather
have posted a note here about the puppet theater making a grand

re-opening, and hopefully will be able to do just that soon, but this particular
note goes out because this seems to be a pivotal

moment regarding the future of the space, and the identity, not to mention
existence, of the marionette theater.

To keep this query beneficial to all, perhaps general, "big picture"
comments could be added to the string (hmmm)
 here,

and anyone with specific questions or comments, or desiring more information,
could write me offline. Some cliches are true:

after having done some touring and lecturing with my own small shows, I'm
developing a new appreciation for all those who run

their own puppet theaters!

    Thank you, everyone! Grazie!

    Sean
