I realise we are talking here of puppeteers beings shown as  'evil',  
but surprisingly they are always the one's who are best remembered. In  
the live theatre, many who play the villains are the stars, especially
in pantomime - the wicked Queen in Snow White, Captain Hook in Peter  
Pan, Abanazar in Aladdin, and as Alan said Joker in Batman. I always  
found it was more fun to play a villain than a goody.
My own puppet shows latterly for children were centred round a wicked  
Witch called Claudia in a series of episodes centered on 'Dark Doings  
in Rumbles Wood'. We were continuously booked for these stories
in private engagements for children's shows as they were like a  
'soap'. They wanted to know what happened next.
