We watched it too from start to finish. BEAUTIFUL. The stadium was
an amazing feat. Probably too costly for most other countries.
Tho the Atlanta show is still my all time favorite.

The three adults watching all think we know our geography quite well,
but there were many countries I had never heard of until last
night. liz

I hope all puptcritters got to watch the opening ceremonies from
Beijing.

I think it is a glimpse into the future of 21st century mega-spectacle.
Unlike the Utah and Atalnta Olympics, which featured huge figures
designed by Michael Curry, there were no puppets, only masses of human
bodies. The opening sequence of thousands of drummers whose drums and
sticks that lit up like titanic LED screens were especially cool. So
was the forest of translucent screens in the martial arts section, and
the cloud treading torch bearer.
