Looking for various medieval clothing images (I love hoggle's cap in the movie Labyrinth), I stumbled upon a page that has me confused. (but if you have any patterns to recommend to make such a cap, I'd love to see!) http://www.sowatzka.com/gary/hoggle.html Someone is claiming to have restored Hoggle from the movie Labyrinth! But something is definitely very wrong. Even considering deterioration on the "before" photos, I don't recognise one of my favorite creature design of all time! I think this was either a prop or stunt double puppet for Hoggle (not as detailed or accurate as the costume with animatronic head), or somebody's remake of Hoggle, and that the artist restored that, thinking it was the real Hoggle. And the end result is far, very far, from our ol' friend's "reality". After all, wouldn't the Jim Henson company (or George Lucas) not have the original in their collection? Does anybody have insight into this? If there's a link with pics of the actual Hoggle (and his marvelous patwork cap), I'd love to see that too! I'm making a medieval costume to attend a medieval wedding in September. Maybe I can make a skull cap with some visual flavors borrowed from Hoggle's cap. _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
