I recently dismantled two of those opaque window blinds that re-rolls by themselves, thanks to an inner spring-loaded mechanism. Today, I noticed how wobbly these springs were sideways, and how expressive their movement are. I temporarily attached a drawer knob at one end (to form an eye), then inserted a dowel in the spring, trying at various depth. changing how deep the dowel goes into it, and how heavy the eye, the height tendency and the "zero position" vary a lot. I never saw any spring of this type sold by itself, but at least I know I see a window blind in the trash a few times a year. _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
