Oh Nancy,

I'm so sorry to hear about this.  As you may remember, the same thing  
happened to Mary Churchill- founder of Puppet Showplace Theatre-  
years ago, except it was almost all of her puppets from all of her  
shows.  It was then that she decided having a license plate "puppet"  
was perhaps not a good idea.

I would suggest you be in touch with Peter and Anne of Tanglewood  
Marionettes.  They had a similar incident a year or two ago and had  
very good luck recovering the puppets with the help of local  
television news stations.
