During the process, I ran out of thread on the black spool. I like to buy my thread in large quantities, as it's incredibly economical. I can often find huge industrial spools of the main colors I use, in thrift shops. I just make sure the fiber is properly listed. A huge spool of polyester thread can be had for 5$, and I have enough to last me a few years. But my home sewing machine does not support the huge spools. So I have to re-spool the standard sizes as I need them. One extremely easy way I found only requires a drill and a pencil as special equipement. A vise makes it even easier, as it can hold your drill in place. I slide the spool on the pencil, the caliber is just tight enough to hold it there snuggly. If some day I get a spool with a sklightly too large hole, i'll add masking tape to add caliber. I slide the pencil in the drill. I place the drill in the vise and plug it in. I place the big spool on the floor, or if it's a smaller one, I put it ina tall container, to prevent it from escaping... I place the end of the thread on the notch in the spool, turn a few turns by hand, then start the drill. With one hand I control the drill, with the other I control the tension and direction of the thead as it turns around the spool. It's fun and fast! _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
