George's book is about the best because it deals with the elements of
puppeteering and doesn't go into how to make a puppet. I have used that
book in teacher residencies. The excersises lead the beginning puppeteer to
have the process experience of animating an object to life. The how -to
puppet making books have you building the violin so to speak instead of
learning to play a tune or understanding the music.
