I've never used Flash, so don't know its capabilities, or what can be accepted as input. I will mention that I made a computer puppet once. I used LED's for the face, and just switched the lower part of the mouth on-and-off to talk. That was over 2 years ago, so current technology allows for me to do it on a flat screen. But, I think that if I had it to do over again now, I would do something even lower tech than the LED's. The point is to be a puppet interpretation of a computer, not a computer itself. when I did the LED's the first time around, it had a Gee-whizz high-tech thing going for it. But, now I can't really do that successfully for an audience already familiar with talking computers. So, the low-tech approach would probably work to my advantage. I guess sometimes high-tech works for you, and sometimes against you.
