Subject: [Puptcrit] Disposable employees

We live in a disposable society. If you have not seen the current Pixar movie, WAL-E, now is an appropriate time to do so.

Last night I met Vincent Bugliosi, the man who successfully prosecuted the Charlie Manson clan of murderers here in Los Angeles years ago and wrote Helter Skelter and other best sellers.

His latest book has NOT been widely reviewed in newspapers, radio or TV, but is still on the NY Times best seller list, mostly as a result of word-of-mouth publicity. The title is "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder".

If you feel like a disposable employee at times, just think what it must be like being in George W Bush's army.

A preponderance of last night's audience of over 160 people in a small space were gray or white-haired. It seems like more old folks are worried about the state of culture, employment opportunities and the future of the arts, civil rights, education, democracy, healthcare, etc. etc. than the young ones. I hope that is not really the case. The future of puppetry and everything else depends on our young people.
