Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Puppet Sets built above the floor for filming

Oh boy, what can o' worms have I opened this time?
LoL

I knew the Muppets used raised sets, but what I meant was full 3D sets of an
environment, with depth where humans and puppets can walk and be seen
walking anywhere, can sit and be seen walking anywhere, etcetera..
And in Alf's case, it seems they didn't need to build exactly for the camera
to become the frame. They just made a sitcom as if it were all for humans,
and adapted the puppet and its duplicate parts to fit the scene.

I think either ways work equally wonderfully.

Oops, I guess my sense of memory was fuzzy tonight. I just remembered that
The Muppet Show's backstage set and Dressing Room are just about the same as
described above in Alf's case, but a tad less complex (it's seen from just a
few angles, and you never see the floor).

Those raised sets must look pretty strange for a newcommer, or evne for the
human performers on their first time, having to navigate through the set.
What do those sets look like, from their point of view?
Any pics?
