Have you seen Carrot Top? He is the hand puppet created by Paul Walton and Michael O'Rourke in 1952 for MGM's delightful 1953 movie musical, "Lili" and operated by George Latshaw.

The other three puppet stars of "Lili", namely Marguerite, Golo the Giant and Reynardo the Fox, will be reunited with their leading lady, Leslie Caron, at the Santa Monica Puppetry Festival:

This exciting event runs October 8 through 12, with highlights happening Friday through Sunday.

The Muppets are featured in a lengthy front page article with a very  large 
full-color photo and a full page of text and photos continued  inside in the 
"Arts & Leisure" section of tomorrow's New York  Times (Sunday, Sept 21,) titled 
"Fuzzy Renaissance."
 
Also on the same page (it may not matter so much to you, but matters a lot  
to me as a life-long fan and attendee of the famous "Young People Concerts") is 
 an article on the life of Leonard Bernstein. Lenny and Jim Henson both 
passed  away in 1990, as did Dr. An Wang, while I was employed as a Systems Analyst 
at  Wang Laboratories. It was a sad year for my role models.
