What a delight. it was a a puppet show viewed as =93one King , six Queens and a dog called Stanley. It was an overview of the history of Henry the VIII and the ghosts of his Queens represented by puppets and Ken as an interlocutor or go between for a living breathing Henry who takes us through his life carrying on a conversation with Ken and the Queen rod puppets. What a wonderful way to confront history. Running a full 70 minutes it entertained and captured fully the machinations of Henry in a precise manner. What away to teach history informing us at the same time fully engaging us in a rich puppet treat. Adding to the treat was it's presentation in the nave of a wonderful Anglican churchnot withstanding the length of the program which never once lost the attention of the audience. At the end of the perfomance I chatted with Ken and was given a ride to the tube for my return home. One of the reasons I love being a puppeteer is to be able to encounter, on my travals, a puppeter as gracious as Ken and exchange ideas. Those of you who chance to go to London be sure to look him up.
