Subject: [Puptcrit] Sid the Science Kid - starts today!!


This new show co-produced by the Jim Henson Company and KCET, premieres 
today, Monday, Sept. 1.=A0 Sid the Science Kid is a new educational animated TV 
series using comedy to promote exploration, discovery and science readiness among 
preschoolers.=A0The performances are created on the Henson Company's live 
performance animation system by puppeteers (many of whom are members of the Los 
Angeles Guild of Puppetry.)=A0Each character is performed by 2 people - 1 person 
operating the head and performing the dialogue, another person performing the body 
in a motion capture style suit.   The system allows performers to puppeteer 
and voice digital puppets in real time.
There will be 4 episodes starting at 9:00 am - after Sept. 1 the show will be 
shown at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, weekdays.=A0
