Eugene is from Russia. He has worked for Moscow Puppet Theatre, makes great looking puppets, has developed a solo variety show with marionettes and I think still lives in North Hollywood CA. He has done work for Bob Baker Marionette Theater and for Jim Gamble.

I totally agree. Facial movement isn't necessary. It gives them a
sophistication here. I also loved the setting.

Have you seen the "Faust" video by Steven Ritz-Barr . Eugene Seregin made
the puppets. In the film there are moments of facial movement created by
camera angle movement. It is a good example of getting more with less.

Steven came to the SE regional Puppet Gumbo and brought his very small table
top set. The trailor kind of captures it but not quite. He let us play
with the Sicilian rod puppets built by Eugene Seregin. The puppets were
amazing to operate. Seregin came from Russia (I think I'm remembering that
right) to LA. He is VERY talented. Do any of you know him?
