Subject: [Puptcrit] Walton & O'Rourke

In 1941, Walton & O'Rourke worked on Broadway with Olsen & Johnson's "Sons of Fun". I seem to recall another Olsen & Johnson show called "Hellzapoppin"---not sure if W & O'R were in it too.

One of their gimmicks for "Sons" was a scissorlike contraption which made a puppet leap from the stage toward the audience & back.

Sid Krofft adapted the idea in one of his shows, later. Skeletons or ghosts?

Walton & O'Rourke performed for so many celebrities, that they took it all in stride. Both had a good sense of humour about life and a democratic outlook on the human race.

How many of us have performed for King Farouk, Princess Grace and the like as did Walton & O'Rourke? Well. Bob Bromley performed for Grace, and maybe a few others can make similar claims. But it is still not that usual.
