Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Panic inducing warnings

If you compare our lives to almost anytime in history, we live like kings
and queens. When I was 18 I landed in a community of Native Americans on
the Nevada desert for two years where we lived in 3rd world conditions. We
came home from the dump with a bigger load than what we dropped off. I
moved from there to Appalachia where my run down cabin had no running water
and chickens in the attic and shopping happenned at flea markets. Those
were very happy times and now juggling kids tuitions, mortgages and the
complications of 21st century living and this ecomomy , environmental issues
and general instability of the world, those times seem pretty tranquil by
comparison. America is going through the neck of a bottle right now and
some fundamental things are going to change. I recently read that with the
current rise of living conditions in India China and other locales and with
our present level of consumption that in 20 years we would need 5 planet
earths to keep up the level of consumption. I read about a couple who lost
their home in the mortgage crisis and thought their lives were over. They
got rid of the car got an apartment downtown and started walking to the
store etc. They reported that the unexpected result was that they had more
time together and that their quality of life had risen. I agree with FDR
that the thing to fear is fear itself. We all want change and are getting
it. Take a deep breath, we are puppeteers and are resourceful people. We
are also all in this together.
