It totally disappears, especially with tinted windows. Also those motel coupon books at rest areas have awesome discounts, way behond the 5-10% of AAA or AARP. I don't have problems with cheap motels unless I think my car will get broken into. When the lights are out there is a bed and a TV. Yes and the expensive hotels make you pay for wi-fi. Satellite radio sounds wonderful, I 'll have to look into that. I like to park out front of the lobby if I get a feeling about the security of the lot, as it seems more secure than the back of the motel somewhere. I have had to sleep in my van several times when motels were sold out because of huge sporting events or the like. I pull out a piece of black velvet and use a foamie as a pillow. And wow Bob, 43k miles! You beat me. I'm closer to 30,000.
