Those "eco friendly bulbs", if you are refering to the fluorescent (tubes, 
spirals, bulbs), are FAR from eco friendly. Not only do they contain 
dangerous chemicals, they also are not recycled in most areas.
Also, like their bigger cousins, they cause major headaches and loss of 
energy (some people are more sensitive than others). I don't know why, but 
fluorescent lighting is not proper for humans.
Maybe it's the flashing rate, maybe it's the light wavelenght.

Their only advantage is that they cost less electricity to power up, but 
that's hardly enough to justify their use.
