Subject: [Puptcrit] paper mache travelling

Hello All,

Was just having a look at the Air Canada website and I noticed that,
technically speaking, they do not allow any object made from paper mache on
an airline, but it in carry on luggage or in check in.
   http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/airport/baggage/security.html
(it is mentioned in the large yellow list at the bottom of the page under
flammable objects)
I have several puppets made of paper mache (and more in the progress of
creation) and as it so happens I've already traveled around Europe with
them, taking at least one air canada flight and receiving no objections
about taking these puppets with me (though at the time I never thought to
mention it). I am curious if anyone has ever had any trouble with security
at airports in regards to transporting puppets - is there a 'special magic
form' one may have signed by authorative persons to allow us to transport
puppets of such material legally (ie. just in case they do check the
luggage). At the moment, having no time, I'm going with a policy of keeping
my trap shut and hoping for the best.

yrs.
