What do you prefer to use, to secure your piece of wood to a board or workbench, without it being too difficult to adjust from time to time? I try to sculpt over the entire piece as I go. Yes, sharpening is indeed more difficult than carving. I have yet to have a perfect edge. Especially for the U-gouges. At least they work relatively well, if not perfectly. I'll get a tool sharpening video or take a course as soon as possible. I just need a bigger oil stone (mine is too close to my tool sizes), perhaps a molded one for the u-gouges. A buffing wheel for my bench grinder is soon to be on the way, as payment for a job I did a while ago (friend traded tools for my graphic design services). Wow, woodworking may be relatively basic as a technique (compared to some high-tech ones of today), but it does require lots of preparation before being efficient! I might simplfy eventually and end up wittling with a single knife! _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
