Robert,
The actual making of the barcode... there are different softwares  
available that do it or you could get them done and delivered from a  
web vendor while you wait I'm sure. Some use a upc type font that is  
just vertical lines, and some make vector files. Either way the  
barcode can be printed and attached or inserted in the artwork that  
prints your cd cover.

How you actually get the mysterious number, I don't know.
