Dear Puptcrit, When I moved to Vermont, I meet someone who called themselves a "Professional Arts Advocate" which sounded so much better than being an Artist to me. Sounded like a pension and healthcare and maybe paychecks...I could fantasize forever! However, I am what I am and being an art advocate is just part time. What I hope is that the administrators of the Billion Dollar Puppet Bailout don't make more than the puppeteers and producers and builders. I took what follows from the Vermont Arts Council Artmail this month. Why don't we try passing this around and letting our voices be heard. "Shortly after Barak Obama's inauguration, Congress will begin considering the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan. A few days ago Americans for the Arts submitted its policy recommendations on the arts and economic recovery to the Obama Transition Team. These detail how existing federal programs, as well as new proposals, can provide critical support to the country's arts and economic infrastructure." Check out this website and speak up! http://www.capwiz.com/artsusa/home/ Good Luck ..oh yes, there's a prayer meeting for the new administration this Tuesday morning at 6am (since school starts at 7am) at the Congregational Church on Thetford Hill, VT and you are all invited!
