Details please? Who is that specialist? While I was talking about pulp, which is very different from paper clay, I'm very interested in paper mixtures that simulate clay in their handling properties and final appearance, while being stronger. Real Paper Clay as used by ceramists (actual clay mixed with paper), is not very strong if left to air-dry. "Creative Paperclay" is a very very fragile modeling compound that handles a bit like clay. There's hardly anything in it that can qualify it as paper (except sawdust). Not the best for puppetmaking, because of how fragile it is (breaks and scratches easily), but great for finishing decorative items and Art Dolls. I get a similar smooth texture with a mix of drywall compound and pva glue, but it's ideally strong. The best commercial product I've tried that handles a bit like clay but is very strong, is the grey Celluclay, by Activa. The secret is to mix it with hot water (from a kettle, not the tap). This way, no lumps, and very smooth results! _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
