Subject: [Puptcrit] Unraku meetup


Hi all.

I had the honor and pleasure of spending Saturday with the troup "Unraku", 
in Toronto. I participated in an express workshop they were giving, open to 
all interested.
It was fun, motivating, and inspiring. We had three completely 
new-to-puppetry persons there, they were catching on quickly, and obviously 
had a lot of fun.
The Unraku teaching approach is fun and is pressure-free. The participants 
feel at ease immediately.
The techniques are easy to catch and very to-the-point.

We saw Unraku perform the "Bohemian Rhapsody" number they had already posted 
online.
That was a treat. Then we got to redo it ourselves.

After the workshop, the troup and I went to catch something to eat, and 
chatted for a bit.
Everyone in Unraku is very positive, very passionate, very involved with the 
work, and very talented.
I can feel BIG potential emanating from their small creative community, and 
can predict great big achievements in the near future.

The time I spent with them was a great booster for me, both in motivation 
and inspiration.

If you have an event or venue and are looking for performances, or workshop 
givers, think of them first!
