John Farrell of Figures of Speech makes hands out of hot glue sticks.
He uses a torch but he doesn't overheat and burn the sticks. He first
creates the fingers one stick at a time shaping them and then he
leaves some stick below each finger to fuse together into the hand.
They are flexible and sturdy.
